Jackie’s Story

SamanthaSharesJackie always struggled with her weight. She tried Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig…you name it. They were all successful at first, but never for the long haul.

At 61 years old, she thought she was too old to lose weight. Then she heard of Mind Body and Soul Fitness through some friends.

Jackie had her appointment set. She was ready to begin. Then the unthinkable happened. She broke her leg! It was a bad break and it required surgery. She would be out of commission for weeks and weeks.

The owner of Mind Body and Soul Fitness said she could still do the plan. They talked over the phone about what Jackie would need to do. She began the week after her leg surgery.

Jackie lost 19 pounds in 8 weeks. While not being able to move! In the past, she did high impact aerobics up to four times a week and still was not losing. Sometimes she even gained. Now, without being able to exercise, or even walk for that matter, she lost weight! And she lost it fast. She was shocked.

The water helped the inches melt away. Her face, her waist, her shoulders – all reduced in size.

She looks younger and she feels younger.

Jackie followed the plan to the letter. She did not cheat. She was strict, especially since she could not exercise.

She was a tight size 10. She is now a comfortable size 8. Her stubborn belly fat is gone. Before the plan, she was on two medications for high blood pressure. After the plan, her pressure was so low that her doctor eliminated one of the medications!

The plan works at any age. The plan works for any fitness level – or in Jackie’s case – no fitness level! Jackie plans to add some exercise into her life once the doctor gives her the ok. It’s nice to know, though, that she can work out now on her terms.

Lisa’s Story

SamanthaSharesOne evening, not too long ago, Lisa and her husband were watching television. She looked down at the empty bag of pita chips in her lap and realized she had devoured the whole thing. That was it.

Her doctor recommended Mind Body & Soul Fitness and she called that same day. The nurses in the office also had nothing but praise for the plan.

After years of struggles and every diet in the book (from Jenny Craig to Weight Watchers and more), Lisa finally found what worked for her.

Lisa will be 53 next month. She has been on the plan since mid-February of this year. She has lost 45 pounds and wants to shed another 10. She has quit smoking. She has started running. (She has completed 2 5k races and is participating in an upcoming 10k.) She has gone from a size 14/16 to an 8 petite.

Was it hard? Yes! Giving up pizza and pasta in the beginning was torture. Now, though? It’s second nature to make the right choices. The healthier choices.

The encouragement and personal stories push her to do better and to be better. The relationship has become the driving force for Lisa to meet her goals. Getting into the routine of cooking her own food and planning her meals has become almost easy. Something she did not even think about six months ago is now as second-nature as other aspects of her life.

The “Fitness” aspect of the program has also been a win-win for Lisa. She actively participates in Boot Camp, Pilates and Spin Classes. She was in the grocery store this week and a stranger approached her out of the blue and said, “I want your legs!” Lisa was beyond flattered. She was also glad she had run over 6 miles that morning as apparently, her hard work was paying off!

Lisa says active listening and participation with your coach is a key element of the program. They know what they are talking about! Take the advice they give and if and when you hit a wall, ask for more advice. Do not be afraid to ask for what you need.

She feels so good about herself now. She has learned to overcome her cravings. She has learned to believe in herself again. She wants to change the world “one pound at a time!”
